Led by director Haranath Chakraborty, they walked with candles and placards from the busy Rashbehari Avenue to Golpark in memory of the Delhi gang-rape victim who passed away last week.

The placards read, "We want a rape-free India".

Chakraborty told reporters here that they want stricter laws against rapes.

"This is not about Delhi. It is an issue about the safety of women in our country. The punishment should be very strict in this case," he demanded.
