Tom Cruise is a devoted dad: attorney

Tom Cruise speaks to her six-year-old daughter Suri regularly, claims superstar's longtime lawyer Bert Fields.

Fields has denied reports that the 50-year-old actor had abandoned his youngest daughter following his divorce from wife Katie Holmes last summer, reported E! online.

"He talks to her every day, sometimes many times a day. It's just the opposite of what they said in the magazine," Fields said following a trial conference regarding the actor's USD 50 million defamation suit against a magazine.

Both the attorneys of the actor and publisher appeared in the court yesterday for a meet-and-greet with the judge in chambers.
 

The next status hearing is scheduled for April 29.
