Seeking to settle the controversy sparked by transfer of the Principal of a government school here for criticising Education Minister, Kerala Government today revoked the orders and posted her in another school in the city itself.
Giving this information in the Assembly, where the issue had generated fury last week, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the Principal K K Urmila Devi had been posted in the Government Model school in the state capital considering her appeal.
Transfer of Urmila to a school near Attingal town, about 35 km from the city, had triggered a raging controversy with the CPI(M)-led LDF repeatedly alleging it was a vindictive action and she was denied natural justice.

Urmila, who hails from Schedule Caste community, was transferred from Government Cottonhill High School for allegedly questioning the late arrival of Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb at a campus function earlier this month.
In a statement made during the zero hour, Chandy said the decision to give a fresh posting to the Principal in the Government Model School was taken after consulting Education Minister and Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan.
While making the appeal, Urmila had said she did not insult the Education Minister but if her words had hurt anybody she regreted for it.
