Searches are being conducted by the police suspecting possible infiltration of Maoists after they intercepted a tree house set up in Nundala village near here, police said today.

Some villagers noticed the tree house in the forest area on Ooty-Manjur road last night and informed the police and forest department.

A team comprising six forest department and four police officials was rushed to the area and the house, made of bamboo at a height of 20 feet on a 30-foot tall tree, was brought down, they said.

However, nothing was found inside the house, police said, adding, searches are being conducted in the area suspecting it to be a handiwork of anti-social elements.
