Trial runs on a few sections of Delhi Metro's upcoming Pink and Magenta Lines are likely to begin in October, although the complete launch of these corridors will be delayed due to some land acquisition issues.

Metro officials today said that trial runs between Indira Gandhi Airport Domestic Terminal 1 - Janakpuri stations (Magenta) and Kalindi Kunj - Botanical Garden stations of Line 8 (Magenta Line) are expected in November and October respectively.

On Line 7 (Mukundpur-Shiv Vihar corridor), trial run between Delhi Cantt and Moti Bagh stations is likely to be launched in November. DMRC chief Mangu Singh has said that issues of land acquisition persist in a small patch near Trilokpuri on this corridor.

Both Line 7 and 8 are part of metro's Phase III project, which will add around 140-km to the DMRC's rapidly expanding network.
