Tributes paid to Thevar

Ministers and leaders of

various political parties paid tributes to the late freedom fighter Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar his 108th Jayanthi here today.

The guru pooja,held at the memorial here, which was his birth place Thevar, passed off peacefully.

The Pooja festivals began on October 28.

Coimbatore Kamakshipuri Adheenam Sivalingeswara swamy held the Poojas and conducted Deepa Arathanai when thousand of people of the thevar community offered prayers.

DMK leader M K Stalinalso paid floral tributes at the memorial. Among others who visited the memorial Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan, BJP leader Muralidhar Rao and MDMK leader Vaiko.
