Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Turmeric prices rose 1.27 per cent to Rs 7,006 per in futures trade today after participants built up fresh positions on the back of pick-up in domestic and export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in this month contract was trading higher by Rs 88, or 1.27 per cent, to Rs 7,006 per with an open interest of 3,885 lots.

The spice for delivery in July contract also increased by Rs 83, or 1.18 per cent, was trading at Rs 7,085 per quintal, in an open interest of 14,135 lots.
