Two persons including a teenager were today crushed to death and seven others injured when a loaded container skidded and crashed into a slum colony in Mumbra here, disaster officials said.
According to Santosh Kadam, Chief of Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the mishap took place this morning near the Devripada-Atlanta bypass in Mumbra affecting occupants of atleast eight huts.
The deceased were identified as Madhu Prabhakar Halde (15) and Hari Bhikhu Chavan (35), officials said.
The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital and rescue work is on, they added.
