Two drug peddlers arrested in Shopian

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested along with 37 kilograms of a narcotic substance in Shopian district of south Kashmir today, police said.

Fayaz Ahamd Sheikh and Farooq Ahamd were arrested after police intercepted their car, on a tip off, during checking at Reban crossing in Zainapora area of the district, a police spokesman said.

He said 37 kgs of poppy straw were recovered from the possession of the duo who were booked under NDPS Act.
