Two electrocuted as live wires from electric post fall on van

: Two persons travelling in a pick up van were electrocuted today when they came into contact with live wires which snapped after the vehicle hit an electric post near Perinthalamanna in Malappuram district, police said.

The speeding van was proceeding from Perinthalmanna to Pandikkad when the mishap occured at Akuparambil in the wee hours today, police said.

Under the impact, the electric post snapped and the top portion with live wires fell on the van and the duo were electrocuted.

They were rushed to a hospital in Perinthalamanna where they succumbed to injuries, police said.
