Two get life term for murder in Thanjavur

A court here has awarded life term to two van drivers for murdering a 26-year-old man owing to business rivalry, in the district in 2005.

The District Principal Sessions Court Judge AA Nakkiran had yesterday sentenced the convicts S Sathyamoorthi (30) and T Anbukarasan to life imprisonemnt and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 each on them.

According to prosecution, Immanuel, a van driver, of Sanoorapatti was found dead at the village bus stand on September 15, 2005.

Later, during the interrogation, the convicts had confessed to murdering Immanuel.
