Two held for smuggling timber in Doda

Two men were arrested and 18 scants of timber, which were being allegedly smuggled, seized from them here in Doda district, police said today.

A raid was conducted last night at compartment number 11 near Shappan village and the timber scants that were being illegally smuggled from the forest area were seized, Bhaderwah Sub Divisional Police Officer Sardar Sajjad Ahmed Khan said.

Imityaz Ahmed and Mohd Latif were arrested from the spot and booked under various sections of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), he said.
