Two persons including a 70-year old woman were today killed and nine injured when a private bus overturned after hitting a truck in Pallia area here.
The accident took place when a bus going to Nighasan attempted to overtake a sugarcane-laden truck near Gahra Nullah on Pallia-Nighasan Road this afternoon, police said.
The bus driver lost control over the vehicle, rammed the truck and then it rolled into a ditch, they said.
Simarta (70) of Kothia village and an unidentified person were killed on the spot, police said.
The nine injured were rushed to the hospital where the condition of three including the truck driver was stated to be critical, they said.
