Two killed, one injured in mishap in Gurgaon

Two persons were killed today and another was seriously injured when a mini truck they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck at IFFCO Chowk flyover, reducing it to a mangled heap of metal, on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway in Gurgaon.

Police said the accident took place around 6 am when the Tata-407 mini truck, going from Jaipur to Delhi, collided with the stationary truck on the roadside.

The two deceased have not been identified yet while the injured is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.

The mini truck was laden with meat which spread on the road. Police team reached the spot. It took police more than two hours to take out entangled bodies using a gas cutter. This led to a traffic jam at the site till 9 am, said Hawa Singh, PRO Gurgaon Police.
 

"Two unidentified persons died while one other was badly injured. They were transporting mutton (meat) from Jaipur to Delhi in Tata-407. We are trying to identify the deceased and the injured person is still said to be unconscious," he said adding a case against the absconding truck driver has been lodged.
