Two labourers killed in accident at cement plant in C'garh

Two labourers were today killed in an accident at a cement plant in Chhattisgarh's Balodabazar district, police said.

The incident took place at around 4.30 pm in the raw mill section of Ambuja Cement plant located under Balodabazar police station area when trial of the crushing machine was underway, a local police official told PTI.

After some maintenance work in the raw mill, atleast five labourers had went inside the section for itsexamination when suddenly the crushing machine started operating, he said.

Two of the workers identified as Dhirendra Verma (38) and Dilip Kumar Verma (27) came in contact with the machine leaving them critically injured while three others managed to escape, he added.
 

The injured wereimmediatelyrushed to a local hospital of the company from where they were being shifted to Raipur during which they succumbed to the injuries, he added.

Soon after getting information a police team was rushed to the spot and the investigation was underway in this connection, he added.
