Two sentenced to life for murder of woman

A Mahila court here today sentenced two persons to life imprisonment for the murder of a woman two years back in Kodumudi in the district.

Judge Sarvamangala pronounced the verdict against the two persons.

Sundararajan and his friend Sathishkumar took the woman to a deserted spot on May 29, 2012 and strangulated her with her sari.

They then decamped with her gold jewellery after dumping the body in a nearby burial ground.

Villagers noticed the body the next day and informed police. Investigations led to the arrest of the duo.
