The Udaipur district administration today denied media reports that a minor girl in Dhankavara village has died due to malnutrition.

"There was no malnutrition related death of any person in Dhankavara village at Sarada tehsil," Udaipur Collector Ashutosh Padnekar said.

The six-year-old girl, Dhuli, died of illness on June 16 and not due to hunger, he said.

There was sufficient foodgrain and a valid ration card in the family, he said, adding that the matter was blown out of proportion due to local politics.
