BJP's Kerala unit today alleged that the ruling UDF and opposition LDF were "working together" to cover up graft cases against leaders of their respective fronts.
Party state president V Muralidharan told reporters that there have been corruption cases against Finance Minister K M Mani on bar bribery scam and against CPI(M) leader Elamaram Kareem, who was Industries Minister in the previous LDF government, in a land scam.
Vigilance legal advisor C C Augustine, appointed during the previous LDF government, "is believed to have given legal opinion in favour of K M Mani", he said.
Similarly in the Chakkittapara land scam, though there are enough evidence against Kareem, the UDF government has not been taking any action against him.
"Both the UDF and LDF reached an understanding to defeat the BJP candidate O Rajagopal in the June 27 Aruvikkara assembly bypoll", he said.
