A deputy jailor and a warden of the district jail here have been suspended while another warden is facing a departmental inquiry after an undertrial committed suicide last week.
Jail superintendent Rakesh Singh said the state prison department has suspended deputy jailor Nageshwar Singh and jail warden Kanahiya Lal, and has initiated departmental inquiry against warden Anuj Kumar.
The action was taken on basis of a report into the incident by senior state prison official V K Shekhar.
An undertrial, Sajid had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the jail toilet's ceiling on August 16.
In June, a jailor and warden were suspended after a prisoner was beaten to death allegedly by inmates.
