Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham has lodged a police complaint saying that an unidentified person withdrew Rs 50,000 from his bank account through an ATM in Panaji in August this year.

Officers of Kakinada town police station are probing the case, he said.

"Rs 50,000 were withdrawn in three installments from my SBI bank account on August 29," Narasimham told PTI here today.

The TDP MP came to know about it through the bank's SMS. He immediately contacted SBI and got his ATM card blocked.

According to him, a week earlier he had used the bank's ATM card to make purchases at a mall in Bangalore.

"I also brought the matter to the notice of AP director general of police J V Ramudu," the MP said.

"Police found out that a masked man withdrew money from my account at an ATM in Pananji. They are probing it," he said.
