A 13-year-old girl has allegedly committed suicide here by consuming poison after her parents reprimanded her for not concentrating on studies, police said.
The class-8 girl studied at the Edapadi panchayat union middle school and was upset over the scolding following which she consumed poison at home and died last evening, they said.

Meanwhile, the JNU Spokesperson said, the case was not in our jurisdiction as the matter is with police.
The members of the varsity's gender sensitization committee against sexual harassment (GSCASH) which deals with complaints of this nature were not available for comments on the issue.
