C K Asnani has taken over as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of state-run 'Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL).
Asnani, who has served as Director Technical and a fulltime Director at Indian Rare Earths Limited, took the charge from Diwakar Acharya.
Asnani (B.Tech in Chemical Engineering) did Post-Graduation in Nuclear Engineering from BARC training school.

The new CMD held a meeting with senior officials of the company soon after Acharya handed over the charge and discussed issues related to UCIL.
When contacted, Acharya described future of UCIL as good and expressed confidence that the mining activities in Jadugora Uranium Mine, about 22 kms from here, will resume before this year end under Asnani's leadership.
The process of reopening the mine was in advance stage and waiting for completion of formalities, he said.
The mine had been closed for close to two years over renewal issue.
