US Consul General Mullins meets Visakhapatnam Steel Plant CMD

US Consul General in Hyderabad Michael Mullins today met Visakhapatnam Steel Plant's Chairman and Managing Director P Madhusudan.

The CMD explained Mullins the growth plans, the latest know-how incorporated in the plant and the performance of the company.

He also informed him about the initiatives taken by the management to protect the environment and the mission to plant 6.3 million trees with the aim 'one tree for one tonne of steel produced'.

Mullins was impressed with the ambitious growth plans of VSP, particularly the coastal location of the plant and its logistical advantages.

Later, he visited the model room and awards gallery, various production units and witnessed the rolling of various grades of steel products.
 

"It is a very beautiful and environment-friendly plant and I am impressed with the facilities," the envoy said.
