City-based water treatment player VA Tech Wabag has bagged its first project in Tanzania valued at USD 40 million.
"VA Tech Wabag Ltd has bagged its first ever order in Tanzania. The project is funded by EXIM Bank of India under the Indian line of credit," the company said in a statement here today.
"The project is a design and build contract from Dar Es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) for a value of USD 40 million", it said.

The company said the scope of the project include building of a 130 MLD Upper Ruvu water treatment plant in Tanzania, it said.
"Wabag is already present in North African market and with this order we are further expanding our footprints into newer geographies," VA Tech Wabag Managing Director Rajiv Mittal said.
