------------------------------------------------------- Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today asked the state government to assess the impact of the afforestation work done by Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in Trikuta Hills. The Governor directed Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Vinod Ranjan in this regard and also wanted him to give advise on the tree species that should be planted along the chain-link boundary fence to ensure against encroachments and theft of forest wealth. The PCCF, who had called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan, briefed him about the various afforestation measures being undertaken for the promotion of green cover in the state. ------------------------------------------------------- SESSION ------------------------------------------------------- Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council chairman Amrit Malhotra today briefed Governor N N Vohra on issues that will be taken up in the upcoming session of the state Legislative Council. He informed the Governor about certain issues which were carried over from the last session and the new issues which would come up in the session which is commencing on February 28. (MORE)
