Vandana Jena gets additional charge of Rural Development Secy

Senior IAS officer Vandana Kumari Jena was today given additional charge of Rural Development Secretary after L C Goyal was appointed as new Home Secretary.

Jena, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, is currently Secretary in Department of Land Resources.

She will hold the charge for three months, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.

Goyal, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, was last night appointed as new Home Secretary. He succeeded Goswami who was sacked by the government for his alleged attempt to stall the arrest of former Union minister Matang Sinh, an accused in multi-crore Saradha scam, by CBI.
