Wang most popular surname in China

"Wang" is the most popular surname in China, with 95 million Wangs across the world's most populous country, according to a study.

The study released yesterday by the China Fuxi Cultural Research Association said that "Wang" was the most popular surname followed by "Li" and "Zhang" respectively.

Twenty-one per cent of the country's population has one of the three surnames, according to the study.

China is the world's most populous country with 1.3 billion people.
