The West Bengal government today formed a five member expert committee to look into the issue of bus fare hike as demanded by private bus operators.
"We have formed an expert committee to look into the issue of cost analysis and other aspects of bus fare. The committee will be led by Alapan Bandopadhaya, transport secretary and will also have automobile experts," state education minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters in the state Assembly premises.
Chatterjee along with state transport minister Madan Mitra leads a group of ministers and an all party team which look into the transport sector of the state government.

"The committee will submit its report within the next ten days. Out topmost priority is to look into the aspects of comfort of the commuters," said Chatterjee.
SUCI MLA Tarun Naskar said the committee would also look into the data given by the bus owners regarding their operational costs and income.
