Wheat prices fell for the third straight day by losing Rs 20 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today following increased supplies from producing belts against reduced offtake by flour mills.
However, rice basmati prices firmed up on stockists buying.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) shed another Rs 20 to Rs 1,580-1,585 per quintal. Atta chakki followed suit and delivery traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,585-1,590 per 90 kg.
On the other hand, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety ended higher at Rs 9,200-9,500 and Rs 8,200-9900 from previous levels of Rs 9,000-9,3000 and Rs 8150-9800 per quintal respectively.
