Wheat futures rise 0.17% as demand picks up

Wheat prices were up 0.17 per cent to Rs 1,739 per quintal in futures trading today after participants built up fresh positions amid upsurge in demand at the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in November edged up by Rs 3, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 1,739 per quintal with an open interest of 6,560 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following uptick in demand from flour mills at the spot market amid pause in arrivals from producing belts, mainly influenced wheat prices at futures trade.
