Wheels India, a TVS group company, today said its standalone net profit nearly doubled to Rs 14.62 crore in the first quarter ended June 30.
The Chennai-based company's net profit surged by 88.1 per cent from Rs 7.77 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income from operations surged to Rs 533.96 crore from Rs 491.58 crore registered during the corresponding period of previous year.

For financial year ended March 31, the company's net profit stood at Rs 39.99 crore. Total income from operations was at Rs 2,016.27 crore.
Stock of the company closed at Rs 1,324.55, up 8.57 per cent over the previous close on BSE.
