Several parts of Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari district received heavy summer showers today giving much-needed relief to people reeeling under the heat.
The two districts, which were experiencing extreme hot weather for the past two days, experienced widespread rains.
In Kanyakumari district, the rains were accompanied by thunder and ightning.
A report from Rameswaram said Rameswaram Town also received heavy rain accompanied by strong winds since this morning.
