Wild boar poached in Odisha, 4 arrested

Four poachers were today arrested by forest officials from Dankari village of the district and hide, flesh and teeth of a wild boar were seized from them.

Animal traps and sharp weapons were also recovered from their possession, said Bayree Forester Bijay Kumar Mohanty.

The arrested identified as Bipin Behari Malik (34), Ajaya Kumar Malik (33), Kuna Malik (35) and Tima Dehury (40) belong to Dankari village.

"The arrested persons had killed a boar in Dankari forest and sold its meat to the locals on Thursday," Mohanty said, adding, raids were conducted in the houses of the accused today after the boar poaching incident came to light on Saturday.
 

They were remanded to judicial custody after they were produced before a court.
