Senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy today said the job of AICC General Secretary, in-charge of Andhra Pradesh was a challenging one and he would be 100 per cent dedicated to the new role.
The former Kerala Chief Minister said he was grateful to party president Rahul Gandhi for appointing him as the party general secretary.
He said the big role was given to him as part of the bid by the Congress chief to strengthen the party.
"It is a challenging job. I am grateful to the Congress president. It is the time for the unity of secular forces. I will try to give 100 per cent to the new role," Chandy told reporters here.
Chandy was appointed as AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh, replacing senior leader Digvijaya Singh.
