Woman abducted, strangled to death; 1 held

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and strangled to death by a man in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Jhinjhana town on Saturday evening. The body was found dumped in the fields, according to an officer.

Acting on a complaint, a case was registered and Mohit, 24, has been arrested. An investigation is on and the body has been sent for post-mortem, the officer said.
