Woman accused in murder case escapes during transit

A 31-year-old woman undertrial prisoner, escorted by two constables, managed to escape while being brought back to prison here after producing her in a court in nearby Udhagamandalam, police said today.

Sheena was arrested and lodged in the jail here in connection with a murder case and was taken to Udhagamandalam yesterday.

After alighting from the bus in the city bus stand at around 9.30 PM last night, she managed to escape, they said.
