A 26-year-old woman was allegedly attacked with acid by her former husband in Ahmedabad city Thursday, police said.
The victim had separated from her husband Haribhai Nariya about a month ago, police said.
After learning that she has married someone else, Nariya went to her husband's house Thursday and had a heated argument with her, said an official of Khokhara police station.
"The accused then took out a bottle of acid from his pocket and threw the liquid at the victim, leaving her with burn injuries on the face and back," the official said.
She was admitted to local hospital.
Khokhara police have registered a case against Nariya who is absconding, the officer added.
