During interrogation, Vinay also revealed that he had recently borrowed money from his friends to buy a smartphone and was being pressurised to pay back. He visited Munni Devi's house last night and demanded cash.
When Munni Devi refused, her step-grandson turned infuriated and murdered her. He also took away around Rs 4,000 from her residence but the cash is yet to be recovered, police added.
