A woman today committed suicide by jumping into the river Chenab in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.
Rekha Devi, daughter of Hari Lal of Mudsrunda Shiva area in District Doda, jumped into Chenab river from the newly- constructed Ganpat Bridge near Pul Doda, Police said.
Police has started search operation to trace the body but when last reports came in, it was yet to be found.

Inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC has been started by the police.
"We are in the process of collecting evidence about what prompted the woman take such an extreme step," a police official said.
