Woman, daughter injured in acid attack

A woman and her daughter received serious burn injuries when an unidentified person threw acid on them in Jaunpur district, police said today.

The victims Champa (58) and Madhuri (21) were sleeping near the window of their house in Machligaon village under Badlapur police station area when the miscreant threw acid on them last night, they said.

Both received serious burn injuries and were rushed to a nursing home in Varanasi, they said, adding that a case has been registered and efforts were on to trace the culprit.
