Woman dies as tractor hits bike

A middle-aged woman was killed and 24-year-old man injured when their bike was hit by a tractor in Loni area here, police said today.

Wazid Ali (24), and Shahjahan (50) riding as pillion, were proceeding towards Janta Colony in Welcome area of East Delhi when their bike was hit by the tractor near Indirapuri police post in Loni town around 10 am, police said.

After hitting the bike, the tractor also collided with a truck.

Both the injured were rushed to the GTB hospital in Delhi, where due to the strike by resident doctors, they were referred to the MMG hospital here, SHO Loni Kotwali Avdhesh Pratap Singh said.
 

The MMG doctors declared woman Shahjahan brought dead and severely injured Wazid Ali has been undergoing treatment.

The locals who have taken the injured to the GTB hospital told the police that nearly 2 hours were wasted in getting the injured finally admitted at the MMG hospital.

The tractor driver has been arrested and his vehicle was impounded, SHO added.
