Woman drug peddler arrested in Phagwara

An alleged woman drug peddler was arrested here with 50 grams of intoxicating powder, police said today.

The woman has been identified as Sonia, a resident of local Jagat Ram Soondh Colony.

She was arrested under relevant sections of NDPS Act last night, police said.

The woman caught during a routine checking on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road.

Meanwhile, a couple of nearby Sunra Rajputan village was here under various sections of the NDPS Act for allegedly peddling drugs, police said.

The couple, identified as Lakhbir Singh and his wife Mehingi, was yet to be arrested.
