A five-month-old baby was allegedly murdered by a woman and her son in Nalpada area of the city today, police said.
The crime seems to be the fallout of old rivalry between two families, they said.
The incident occurred in morning when Pyaridevi Chouhan and her son Sanjay started breaking wall of top floor of house where the victim Sunita Chavan is staying, said a police official.
When Sunita objected to this, she was allegedly attacked with a knife by the duo, in which she sustained injuries.
According to the FIR lodged by Sunita, the duo went inside the house and slit the throat of her son Hariom.
Sunita and Pyaridevi are sister-in-laws of one another and their families are at loggerheads over some property in their village.
The accused were arrested and booked under various sections of IPC including murder.
