Woman killed in accident

by a truck on the Bhadohi-Allahabad national highway here, police said.

Kiran Devi (28) was killed when the motorcycle on which she was returning after the "mundan" of her six month-old son in Vindhyachal shrine was hit by a speeding truck in Gopiganj police station area, police said.

Her son and husband, who were with her are safe, police said adding that the truck driver has been arrested.

Meanwhile, local residents protested against the incident leading to a traffic jam and police had to use mild force to disperse them.
