Woman, minor daughter killed after being hit by train

A 30-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter were killed while her other minor daughter was injured after they were hit by a train while trying to cross tracks near here, police said.

The woman and her daughters were hit by a Faizabad-bound passenger train on the Pindra-Jaunpur railway line in Phoolpur police station area here yesterday, a police officer said.

The mother has been identified as Varsha (30), a native of Jaunpur district.

The injured daughter, aged 3, has been admitted in a nearby government hospital for treatment, the officer said.

The two bodies have been sent for post-mortem, he said adding that further investigation is on.
