Woman run over by train in Punjab

A 40-year-old woman was killed after being run over by a train on Phagwara-Nawanshahr rail section here, a Government Railway Police (GRP) official said today.

The incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, the official said.

Ratan Kaur, a resident of Pipa Rangi here, was crossing the rail track unmindful of the approaching train, he said.

The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem at a local civil hospital here, he added.
