A 22-year-old woman today appealed to the district administration to provide protection from her husband and father-in-law, who, she alleged, was making sexual advances when she was alone at home.
In a petition to District Collector, Archana Patnaik, hailing from a village in Theni district, said she was married to a computer service engineer for the last one year and both were staying along with her husband's father in the city.
As her husband had to go on tour, her father-in-law was taking advantage and making sexual advances which she resisted, she alleged.

When she reported the matter to her husband, he told her to "cooperate" with his father. When she refused, he forcibly removed the 'thali' (mangalsutra) and pushed her out of the house, the petition alleged.
The father-in-law then locked the house and and left with his son leaving her in the lurch, she alleged.
Seeking stringent action against the father-son duo, she also sought protection to her life, as she feared attack from both.
A copy of the petition was provided by the Collectorate.
