A 47-year-old woman, who tried to board a moving train from the station here today, was seriously injured after she fell on the tracks.
The woman's left arm and leg got severed in the incident.
Police said the Mangalore-bound Parasuram Express had just started moving when the woman, Maherben, and two other relatives tried to board it. She slipped and fell on the tracks.
The woman was first taken to a district hospital here and later shifted to the KIMS hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
She was on her way to Kochi in connection with her daughter's admission to an engineering institute.
