Young constable kills himself

A 28-year-old constable shot himself dead using his service rifle during duty hours here today, police said.

Identified as Sonu Sadashiv Parkhe, 28, who was on a sentry duty at the residence of a Deputy Commissioner of Police in Civil Lines in western part of city, ended his life.

He was rushed to the hospital, but died on his way.

A native of Darwah in Yavatmal district, he had got married only four months back, police added.
