A 21-year-old para-medical student today died of gunshot injuries in the district today, police said.
Mazil of Manuthamangalam was brought to a private hospital at Perinthalamanna with bleeding injuries on his neck and legs this evening.
However, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, police said.
Two persons, who brought Mazil on a motorcycle, fled the hospital immediately after leaving him there, they said, adding a search was on for the duo.
Preliminary investigations showed that the injuries could have been caused by an air gun, police said.
